WSP acquires Norway’s UnionConsult

The 160-employee firm is based in Oslo, with eight additional offices across Norway, and expertise in mechanical, electrical and plumbing design.

WSP Global Inc., based in Montreal, has acquired Norwegian multi-disciplinary consulting firm, UnionConsult Gruppen AS specializing in mechanical, electrical and plumbing, along with additional services in buildings engineering and architecture.

UnionConsult dates back to the 1940s and has been family-owned for three decades and serves a range of clients in both the private and public sectors.

The 160-employee firm is based in Oslo, with eight additional offices across Norway.

“The addition of UnionConsult to the WSP team strengthens our market share in the building sectors, while expanding our engineering and consulting services across the country,” said Knut Jonny Johansen, managing director of WSP in Norway, in a media release.

Earlier this year WSP expanded it presence in Finland announcing the acquisition of ISS Proko Oy in Helsinki.
