Who’s watching? A Quebec legal case explores company surveillance of employees

When is it acceptable for a company to conduct surveillance on an employee, and when is it an infringement of his or her privacy?

An article published online in Lexology by Nicolas Joubert and Léa Pelletier-Marcotte of  Lavery de Billy LLP considers the question in the light of a recent case in Quebec.

The employee in the case claimed he was unable to work because of illness, but a video he posted to his public Facebook account had a video which showed differently.
