Consulting Engineers of Ontario gave out their annual awards on April 28. The gala event was held in Toronto.

Willis Chipman Award
The top award in the program went to The Municipal Infrastructure Group for Sherbourne Common. Sherbourne Common is a public space in East Bayfront, one of the new areas being developed by Waterfront Toronto. The stormwater treatment faciility treats lake and storwater with ultraviolet disinfection and then releases it through a public art feature.

The redesign included a 57.6-kW energy tracking photovoltaic array, conversion of a chiller to a ground source heat pump system, extensive energy submetering, solar thermal system enhancements, building automation system upgrades and full recommissioning.
