SNC-Lavalin names VP of Project Oversight

Nigel White will lead the newly created project oversight function, a global role based in London, UK, responsible for ensuring delivery and execution across all the operations.

SNC-Lavalin has appointed Nigel White as executive vice-president, project oversight.

Effective August 1, 2019, White will lead the newly created project oversight function, a global role based in London, UK, and reporting to interim president/CEO Ian Edwards.

Project oversight is an operational function responsible for ensuring delivery and execution across all the operations with the objective of driving consistency and assessing risk for the company in a way that enhances its ability to foresee and fix project-related issues in a timely fashion.

White has 32 years of experience in managing all aspects of civil, building, foundation and electrical and mechanical contracts in Hong Kong, UK and the U.S.

Prior to joining SNC-Lavalin, he was executive director at Gammon Construction Ltd. in Hong Kong where he had overall responsibility for the company’s operations together with financial performance responsibilities, business growth strategy and business development. He also spent over 20 years at Balfour Beatty in a variety of increasingly senior positions. White holds a Bachelor of Science Degree, Quantity Surveying, from the University of Central England and is Fellow of the chartered Institute of Arbitrators and a Member of the Royal Institute of Surveyors.

SNC also announced it is streamlining its operating structure by integrating its clean power business into its infrastructure sector, and Linxon (its joint venture with ABB Group providing energy solutions for substations) will now report through its resources sector.
