SNC-Lavalin moves to larger office in Port Elgin, Ont.

SNC-Lavalin has moved to a larger 12,000 sq. ft. facility in Port Elgin, Ont. to accommodate its expanding workforce in support of its Bruce Power Life Extension Program.

The firm opened its previous office almost two years ago with a capacity for 12 employees, today there are 30 employees with space for up to 75. Services at this office include: design engineering, performing engineering change control process work, performing walkdowns, emergent work, integrated work with Bruce Power on technical solutions and project management.

From October 2016 to May 2019, SNC-Lavalin was awarded approximately $350 million in contracts by Bruce Power under a previously announced Master Service Agreement.

The eight Bruce Power CANDU units produce over 30% of Ontario’s electricity. The Life Extension Program will allow Bruce Power’s CANDU units to continue to operate through to 2064.
