Sarnia names David Jackson director of engineering

David Jackson has accepted the position of director of engineering with the municipal government of Sarnia, Ont. He begins the role today, which involves overseeing the city’s public works, transit and engineering divisions.

A registered professional engineer (P.Eng.) and certified professional project manager (PMP), Jackson has served the city since 2017 as manager of development, transportation and transit. He was previously manager of capital works for St. Thomas, Ont., and environmental service engineer for London, Ont.

“David is highly respected among his colleagues and has shown the leadership and talent to successfully tackle obstacles and challenges,” says Chris Carter, Sarnia’s chief administrative officer (CAO). “We look forward to him continuing to work with council and our external partners to address opportunities related to infrastructure and efficient delivery of services.”
