Stephen W. Roth has joined Parsons as vice-president, business development in its environment and infrastructure unit. A member of the Alberta Society of Engineering Technologists, Roth is based in Calgary and has 25 years of experience in technical and business development for the architecture, engineering and construction industry.

At Hatch Mott MacDonald, Sylvain Laporte is the new vice president and deputy practice leader for the rail and transit practice. He is based in the Montreal office and will be responsible for Canada east. He has 28 years of experience, including 20 in the railway industry and 10 years in transit. His clients have included Via Rail, Transports Canada, the Quebec Ministry of Transport, and the City of Montreal.

Arup has appointed a director of cities and sustainable real estate. Brian Swett will be leading the company’s efforts to engage throughout the Americas with mayors, municipalities, developers and infrastructure owners to support sustainable, climate-change resilient cities.
