In the U.K., three top executives of French engineering company, Alstom, were released without charge last week after being arrested for alleged bribery and corruption.
The president, legal director and finance director were detained in dawn raids as part of an investigation by Britain’s Serious Fraud Office. The investigation was looking into the possible payment of bribes to obtain contracts overseas.
Alstom specializes in high speed rail transportation and energy and power projects, including nuclear and coal and oil. It has more than 80,000 employees in 70 countries.
