Atlantic Canada's largest employee-owned multidisciplinary engineering firm adds 30+ employee geotechnical and materials testing operation.

Halifax-based CBCL Ltd. has acquired Conquest Engineering Ltd., a 30-plus person geotechnical and materials testing firm based out of Saint John, NB with offices in Saint John, Fredericton, Moncton and Halifax.

CBCL, operating since 1955, is Atlantic Canada’s largest employee-owned multidisciplinary engineering and environmental consulting firm with some 360 employees across eight offices (Halifax, Sydney, NS; Charlottetown, PE; Saint John, Fredericton, Moncton, NB; St. John’s and Happy Valley – Goose Bay, NL ).

“This acquisition fits our strategic objective of providing a full portfolio of services to our clients,” said Michael R. MacDonald, CBCL Ltd. president/CEO in a company release.

Conquest will remain a separate corporate entity and will be a 100% wholly-owned subsidiary of CBCL Ltd.

“Company values that celebrate a commitment to clients and a local employee-owned model are characteristics that align with CBCL and will make this a successful transition,” noted Flewelling in the release. “We’re looking forward to welcoming Conquest into the fold.”
