Stantec has signed a letter of intent to acquire the Caltech Group of Calgary. Caltech has 180 people and has been working in the oil, gas and utility sectors for over 20 years. It has two distinct business units: Caltech Senex Oil & Gas, and Caltech Utilities.

In Quebec, SNC-Lavalin has acquired Groupe Stavibel. Stavibel has about 300 employees, working in buildings, infrastructure, transport, mining and environment. It has offices throughout Abitibi-Témiscamingue and in the Greater Montreal area.

Delcan, based in Markham, near Toronto, has made new senior appointments. They are: Hugh Hawk as vice president. He has 30 years of experience in designing complex bridges and heavy civil structures. New senior principals are Adrian Corlett (Vancouver), Marcela Diaz-Ruiz, Gustavo Garron and Stephanie Rice. New principals are Jack Ajrab (Ottawa), Jonathan Hulse, Jason Jardine and Cathy Campbell-Wilson (Kingston).
