MMM Group has opened two new offices – in Saskatoon and Regina, Saskatchewan. The company, based in Toronto, now has 25 offices in Canada. It has been working on a variety of projects in Saskatchewan, including the City of Regina’s Pasqua Street and 9th Avenue North Intersections Operations study.

BBA of Mont-Saint Hilaire, Quebec has opened a new office in Timmins, Ontario. The company’s primary business sectors are energy and mining, and it has worked in the Timmins area for a number of years, including on the Detour Lake gold mine project. BBA has seven offices across Canada and has grown by 85% since 2009.

Associated Engineering has “merged” with 1st Team Consulting, a municipal engineering firm that was formed in 1994 and is based on Vancouver Island. Associated and 1st Team have a long standing relationship, having worked together on major projects in the B.C. Capital Regional District. Associated Engineering has 850 staff in 20 offices across Canada. First Team has approximately 15 staff.

Montreal-based SNC-Lavalin has acquired Harder Associates Engineering Consulting of Fort St. John, B.C. Founded in 2003, Harder Associates provides services in construction, upstream oil and gas, environmental and geotechnical engineering. It has approximately 16 employees working in offices in Fort St. John and Fort Nelson, B.C., and in Grande Prairie, Alberta.

Vlad Stritesky, president and chief executive officer of exp, was awarded the Ernst & Young 2011 Ontario Entrepreneur of the Year Award in the professional services category in November. He also won a Special Citation for his Entrepreneurial Leadership. The awards are in their 18th year. Exp’s head office is in Brampton, Ontario.
