Arup welcomes four principals in North America

Arup has announced the appointment of four new principals to its North American operations, including one in Canada and three in the U.S.

The Canadian representative is Zoran Markovic, P.Eng., who leads the buildings practice in Arup’s Canada offices. With experience spanning three continents, Markovic has spent the last 12 years leading project teams and managing some of Canada’s largest and most complex building and infrastructure projects.

He has led building-focused engineering services throughout all phases of design and construction in higher education, healthcare, commercial, sports, arts and culture, residential, aviation, and rail markets. A few of his notable projects include the York University Bergeron Centre for Engineering Excellence and York Lions Stadium in Toronto, Tim Hortons Field in Hamilton, the Mattamy National Cycling Centre in Milton, the Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport Pedestrian Tunnel, the Stratford Festival theatre, and the new Canadian Canoe Museum in Peterborough.

The other new principal announcement include: Cierine Nicolas, PE, leader of Arup’s Chicago office; Simon Rees, PE, who leads the structural engineering team at the Los Angeles office; and working out of the New York office, Tabitha Tavolaro, PE, an expert structural engineer, mentor, and project leader.
