ACEC-SK names new chair and board members

On Thursday, June 7 the Association of Consulting Engineering Companies – Saskatchewan held its annual general meeting and Bryce Hunter, P.Eng. became chair of the board of directors, replacing Paul Walsh.

Hunter is a graduate of the University of Saskatchewan civil engineering program and is currently vice president, regional leader for Saskatchewan with Stantec. He was previously with the Government of Saskatchewan, highways and infrastructure.

In his initial letter to the Association, Hunter writes: “The consulting industry in Canada, particularly Saskatchewan, has changed significantly over the past few years. We continue to see economic challenges that have led to what I call our “New Normal”. Now, more than ever, we need to advocate for the important work our industry does as everyone navigates the everchanging world.”

Hunter is joined on the board executive by vice chair, Nancy Inglis, P.Eng.; secretary-treasurer, Patrick Lalach, P.Eng.; and past chair, Paul Walsh, P.Eng.

This team will lead the 2018-2019 board, made up of directors: Ryan King; Daryl Andrew, P.Eng.; Sean Byer, P.Eng.; Brett LaRoche, P.Eng.; Nick Wright, AScT; and ACEC-Canada liaison Lawrence Lukey, P. Eng.; young professionals liaison Matt Feige, P.Eng.; APEGS liaison Anastassia Manuilova, P. Eng.; and associate member liaison, Lee Jaboeuf, AScT.

In a presentation prior to the AGM, Saskatchewan Finance Minister, Donna Harpauer addressed The Impacts of Capital Investment in Saskatchewan, a topic of interest for ACEC-SK members.

“This fit well with the goals of our incoming chair,” said executive director Beverly MacLeod in a release. “Bryce acknowledges that our members are currently facing broad and rapid economic changes. He will drive the dialogue in new directions and provide strategic leadership for ACEC-SK on the issues facing our industry.”
