At a free event on Nov. 6, the Ontario Association of Architects (OAA) will showcase 11 infrastructure projects it has recognized through its inaugural Shift Challenge program, which addresses how new infrastructure can make communities better for everyone.

Through an evening of micro-lectures, co-presented with the Toronto Society of Architects (TSA) at the award-winning Toronto Central YMCA, the people behind the submitted concepts—from architecture students to experienced practitioners—will get to share their ideas with the public. Examples include using railway corridors as cycling highways, powering buildings via wastewater energy, transforming public spaces with modular libraries and redefining affordable housing by dividing homes and reforming zoning.

After the presentations, attendees will be able to mix and mingle with the teams behind the ideas. For free tickets, click here.
