Walmart Canada plans $500 million in construction this year

Walmart has announced that it plans to complete 35 super centre projects across Canada befor e January 2015. The investment amounts to close to $500 million and will include the construction of new stores as well as expansions and remodelling of existing facilities.

There will be approximately $375 million for stores, $91 for distribution network projects to grow its fresh food business, and $31 for e-commerce projects. The additional stores will bring the total tally of Walmart stores in Canada to 395.

The locations for specific projects will be announced individually as they become finalized.
