Niagara Falls Entertainment Partners, a consortium which includes Bird Construction, is the preferred choice to design, build and maintain a new entertainment centre.

OLG, the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation, has confirmed that Niagara Falls Entertainment Partners, a consortium which includes Bird Construction Inc., has been named the preferred proponent in OLG’s procurement process to design, build and maintain a new Niagara Falls Entertainment Centre

The new entertainment centre is expected to have over 5,000 seats and will eventually be operated by the service provider selected to take over day-to-day operations of Fallsview Casino Resort and Casino Niagara.

In its own new release, Bird Construction announced it will perform the design and construction of the project and will also, through Bird Capital, a wholly owned subsidiary, take a minority equity interest in the concession responsible for the overall project, including design, construction, financing, and maintenance.

The firm also announced that the consortium plans to reach financial close in July with construction expected to commence shortly thereafter, although at this time, there can be no assurances that the consortium will receive a contract award related to this project.

This important project adds to our expanding portfolio of public-private partnership projects and further establishes the Company as a key Canadian participant in this delivery model”, said Mr. Ian Boyd, President and CEO of Bird, in the company’s release.
