At the Canada Green Building Council’s National Conference in Toronto on June 3, CaGBC and CSA announced they are collaborating to promote the use of sustainable building products in buildings.

CaGBC has launched LEED v4, the new version of its green building rating system. As part of that system, projects will be rated according to their materials, which will involve Environmental Product Declarations.

The CaGBC and CSA alliance will make CSA a partner in providing services and training related to environmental product declarations. CSA Group provides standards development and testing and certification services for products and equipment.

The latest issue of Canadian Consulting Engineer includes “The New LEED,” a feature article about the features of LEED v4 in Canada, written by Steve Kemp, P.Eng., David Rekker, and Braden Kurczak, P.Eng. of MMM Group. Click here.
