Canada’s largest construction conference and trade show will take place on December 2-4 at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre South Building. Construct Canada will feature 450 speakers dealing with all facets of the construction industry and is attended by architects, consulting engineers and contractors.

The National Green Building conference is run concurrently and includes sessions related to energy management and sustainable design. Canadian Consulting Engineer magazine is a sponsor of the National Green Building conference

The Master Speaker Session on Thursday, December 3 at 10.30 a.m. will be a panel discussion about “Greening the Gardiner.” Chaired by David Crombie, the session will discuss a proposed 7-kilometre green roof for the controversial elevated expressway that runs east-west on the southern edge of the downtown core.

Wednesday sessions at Construct Canada/National Green Building Conference include “Producing ‘Greener’ Concrete” (9 a.m.), “Geoexchange, the Costs, Savings and Installation” (10.30 a.m.), and “New ASHRAE Standards for High Performance and Greener Buildings” (1 p.m.).

Thursday’s sessions include “Carbon Reporting: What’s Included, What’s Not” (9 a.m.), “Solar Rooftop PV for Commercial Building Owners” (10.30 a.m.), “Navigating Incentive Programs (1 p.m.), and “Concrete Pipe: a New Source for Sustainable Building Energy” (2.30 p.m.).
