Kingspan Insulation has introduced Kooltherm K20 Concrete Sandwich Board, a rigid thermoset insulation suited for tilt-up and precast concrete wall applications. It offers a higher R-value per inch than commonly used insulation and is designed to enable thinner wall assemblies to maximize building space.

The core of Kooltherm K20 Concrete Sandwich Board is a rigid thermoset fiber-free phenolic insulant manufactured with a blowing agent that has zero Ozone Depletion Potential (ODP) and low Global Warming Potential (GWP). It offers an R-value of 17 on 2 inches, outstanding fire and smoke performance and is unaffected by air infiltration.

The board is available in standard sizes or can be ordered in custom lengths, and comes in R-values ranging from 13.5 to 40.

“The demands on architects and construction engineers to get more out of their designs has put pressure on insulation suppliers to develop thinner materials that offer even more performance,” said Alswinn Kieboom, managing director, Kingspan Insulation North America. “With Kooltherm K20 Concrete Sandwich Board, we have responded in full force. The product is easy to install, delivers outstanding performance and is already deployed in several projects around the country.”
