MONTREAL, Jan. 11, 2013 /CNW Telbec/ - Montréal real estate developer
Samcon (www.samcon.ca), renowned for the excellent quality/price ratio of condo units built,
plans to launch the company's ambitious Le Drummond project (www.ledrummond.ca) with the official opening of the sales pavilion on January 18th.
"Le Drummond marks an important stage in our company's history,"
underscored Sam Scalia, President and Founder of Samcon. "It is our
first condo tower in the city centre after more than 20 years in
Montréal's condo construction sector and it is an undertaking about
which we are extremely proud." To be erected on a former parking lot,
the new architectural ensemble will be situated on Drummond Street
between St Catherine Street and René-Lévesque Blvd West. The building
will enjoy an ideal location in close proximity to the city's primary
attractions, while being situated on a segment of the street that is
relatively quiet compared with others in the central core.
Le Drummond, designed by the prestige firm of MMB Architectes (IBI
Group),will comprise two elegant residential towers rising 23 and 21 floors
respectively above a common three-storey base housing a mix of shops
and offices. Contemporary by design, the towers will feature a
distinguishable blend of flowing lines, over-sized windows, and tone on
tone Italian exterior ceramic cladding, a high performance noble
material being used for the first time in Québec on a project of this
nature. The building of this imposing complex rising some 80 metres up
will require investment of the order of $130 million, with construction
of the South Tower scheduled to begin in the fall of 2013.
Inundated with natural light, Le Drummond's South Tower will house some
190 condo units with grandiose views of the river, city centre or
mountain. In addition to the individual apartments, the complex will
include a number of common areas such as a vast entrance hall, rooftop
urban chalet with 180o window treatment, terrace and outdoor saltwater pool, as well as a
spectacular fitness facility fitted with leading edge equipment. Le
Drummond will also feature a verdant garden terrace for use by
residents and a five-level underground parking garage.
Market response has proven promising to date as some 1500 individuals
have demonstrated an interest in the project upstream of the official
launch of Samcon's marketing campaign. For a first-hand appreciation of
Le Drummond's defining characteristics and signature blend of
contemporary comfort and quality construction, interested individuals
are invited to visit the sales pavilion any time beginning January 18th 2013. Located at 1210 Stanley Street and accessible through an
impressive, completely glass-clad entrance hall, the pavilion will
house two model units, one one-bedroom and one two-bedroom.

Condo units will vary in size from 440 to 845 square feet in area
