Top 50 Canadian construction companies ranked by project value

A new compilation of the "top" 50 general contractors in Canada has listed EllisDon Corporation at the top. The Mississauga-based company has projects under construction with a total value of $8.5 billion.
Other companies on in the top five are Kellogg, Brown & Root with construction projects valued at $4.3 billion; PCL Constructors at $4.2 billion, Societe d'energie de la Baie James at $ billion, and the Ledcor Group of Companies at $1.4 billion.
SNC-Lavalin was listed as number seven with project value at $1.3 billion, AMEC Americas were number 38 ($375 million), Giffels was number 39 (341 million) and Genivar Construction was Number 50 ($270 million).
The figures were compiled from Reed Construction Data for the 12 months starting October 2006.
The report, entitled "The Leaders," is to be published annually by Reed Construction Data and is available on line at www.dcnonl.com/features/leaders2007.
