People News: AECOM’s Angela Iannuzziello makes history; two new executives at SNC-Lavalin

AECOM transit expert Angela Iannuzziello has been named Canada's Transportation Person of the Year, becoming the first female to receive the award in its history.
AECOM transit expert Angela Iannuzziello has been named Canada’s Transportation Person of the Year, becoming the first female to receive the award in its history.
The award was given by the Transportation Association of Canada (TAC) at its 100th anniversary conference held in Montreal on October 16.
Iannuzziello is vice president and Canada transit lead for AECOM. Her career spans 30 years in transportation, transit and traffic planning. She sits on the Canadian Urban Transit Association’s board of directors, is a founding member of The Women’s Transportation Summit (WTS), Toronto Area Chapter, and also a member of the Board of Directors for the Toronto Region Board of Trade, where she previously chaired the board’s infrastructure committee.
The award noted that she “is dedicated to supporting the development of sustainable transportation across Canada and indeed throughout North America.”
“I am so deeply grateful and honoured,” said Iannuzziello. “Sometimes you have no idea of the impact your actions may have.”
SNC-Lavalin has announced two senior appointments in its infrastructure and power groups. Ian Edwards becomes executive vice-president, infrastructure construction effective November 3. He is based in Montreal and will report to Hisham Mahmoud, president of infrastructure. He joins the company from the Leighton Group and has experience in delivering complex infrastructure across Europe and Asia. His academic credentials in civil engineering are from Lancashire University in the U.K.
The second appointment is Pierre St-Arnaud as executive vice-president, transmission and distribution in the company’s power group, effective December 8. St-Arnaud will be based in Calgary and will report to Alexander Taylor, president of the power group. St-Arnaud has acted as president and general manager of ABB France for the past four years. His degrees include one in electrical engineering from the École Polytechnique de Montréal.
