Ontario's construction industry is "thriving" according to the provincial government. The value of building permits in the province rose in December to $2.9 billion, the second highest level on record.
The province's press release also noted that 173 skyscrapers are being built in Toronto, the most in North America. The closest runner up is New York with 96.
