Solar and geothermal technologies for buildings focus of May issue – now online

Canadian Consulting Engineer’s special May issue on Solar and Ground Source technologies is now available on-line. 

Features include “Doing it Right,”an article by Jana Levison on how we need policies to make sure geoexchange fields are developed wisely.

Another feature is “Mining Heat” by Brad Kynoch, B.Sc. on how inactive mines might be sources of geothermal energy.   The town of Springhill in Nova Scotia is the example, where seven buildings are connected to a system that draws water from an old coal mine.  The system saves the companies thousands in operating cost savings.
