Ben Novak, P.Eng. has given an amount to endow a $1,000 annual scholarship at the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Alberta in Edmonton.
The scholarship, entitled the Benno E. Novak Graduate Scholarship in Engineering Management, will be awarded annually to a full time graduate student studying project management. Mr. Novak particularly intends it to foster leadership skills, and skills in the area of translating and communicating technical plans to people.
Mr. Novak has spent 40 years in the consulting engineering industry, notably holding senior positions with Stantec of Edmonton (formerly Stanley).
He is a past president of Consulting Engineers of Alberta and of the Association of Consulting Engineers of Canada.
He is an artist and a musician.
