The civil engineering department at Carleton University has been celebrating an unusual amount of recognition lately.
In June four faculty members from the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering were honoured for outstanding contributions to their field.
Dr. A.O. Abd El Halim, chair of the department, was awarded the 2005 Sandford Fleming Award by the Canadian Society for Civil Engineering. Ken McMartin, laboratory manager with the department, was made president-elect of the Canadian Council of Professional Engineers. Dr. Tim Law, professor of geotechnical engineering and Dr. Jagmohan Humar, distinguished research professor, were both inducted as Fellows of the Canadian Academy of Engineering.
