ACEC-BC: Business Development for Engineers (Prince George)

September 27, 2017
TBC, downtown Prince George

Engineers are realizing that the skill of business development is becoming essential not only for securing work but also as a requirement for moving into senior leadership and for becoming a partner. Industry trends are revealing that non-technical business developers are on the decline. Engineers face the reality of not only doing the work but also of selling the proposal, fees and themselves. Understanding the business development process and acquiring the associated skills to secure new work, retaining existing clients and increase scope on existing projects are becoming the new core competencies for engineers.

The morning half of the session will focus on the business development process. After lunch, the material and exercises will focus on improving communication skills, and will look at how to deal with disagreements and conflict effectively.

ACEC-BC in conjunction with Ralph Kison of Growth Through Learning is presenting a one day workshop in Prince George on business development and effective communication for engineers. Ralph will present his B.D. process that has enabled engineers throughout North America to successfully differentiate themselves and effectively communicate their value and expertise, resulting in increasing their fees and strengthening their market position.

This session has sold out consistently when offered in Vancouver and other regions in BC.
