Westmar Consultants join WorleyParsons

Another acquisition of a well known consulting engineering company has been announced. WorleyParsons of Australia is purchasing Westmar Consultants of B.C.
Westmar will join the infrastructure and environment group of WorleyParsons. Stan Cowdell, president of Westmar, will continue to lead Westmar and will be joined by Greg Barnes, chief operating officer of WorleyParsons Canada, on a managing board for the company.
WorleyParsons has become increasingly active in Canada. It acquired Colt Engineering in March, for example. That division is working on the planned Voyageur Upgrader oilsands project for Suncor.
Specializing in hydrocarbons, infrastructure, the environment, minerals and metals, and power, WorleyParsons has 27,700 people located in 34 countries.
