A.D. Williams Engineering, a well-known consulting engineering firm in Alberta, is joining forces with CWA Structural Engineers. The anticipated merger of the two mid-sized companies under the A.D. Williams Engineering Inc. umbrella will be finalized within weeks, upon completion of the due diligence process.

A.D. Williams has offices in Edmonton, Calgary and Yellowknife, while CWA has been in Calgary since 1977. All staff will be retained in the merger, so once the firms are combined there will be a staff of 30 in Calgary.

The principals expect the combined firm to be able to handle even larger and more complex projects. Allen Williams, P.Eng., President and CEO of A.D. Williams, described the merger as a “win-win situation for both of our companies, all of our staff and clients.”

CWA President David Woodall, P.Eng., says, "It presented an opportunity that could not be missed. The new firm provides the ability to make a greater impact on the construction scene in Alberta, and to provide better service to our clients while maintaining our values as a consulting firm.”

A.D. Williams is also moving into new corporate headquarters in downtown Edmonton this month. It is taking over the site of the landmark Edmonton Club at 10010 -100 Street, across from the Hotel Macdonald and overlooking the Edmonton river valley.
