Two of Canada’s largest professional engineering associations held their annual meetings last week and appointed their 88th new presidents. In Alberta, John McLeod, P.Eng. was sworn in as the 88th president of the Association of Professional Engineers, Geologists and Geophysicists of Alberta (APEGGA) on April 28.
McLeod has worked for 36 years in the upstream oil and gas industry, including 15 years with Amoco Canada. He succeeds David Chalcroft, P.Eng.
Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO) installed Walter K. Bilanski, P.Eng. as its 88th president on April 28. Dr. Bilanski has been elected four times as president, the last term being 1998-199. He was a teacher and researcher for 42 years at the University of Guelph, specializing in agricultural engineering. He succeeds Patrick J. Quinn, P.Eng.
PEO licenses 70,000 professional engineers.
