One of Canada’s top bridge design consulting engineers has hired a new president and chief executive officer. Buckland & Taylor of Vancouver has designed many award winning structures, including the Rama 8 Bridge in Bangkok and the Lion’s Gate Bridge deck replacement in Vancouver.

After four decades with Peter Buckland and Peter Taylor at the helm, the company has now hired Steven G. Hunt, P.Eng. as its new president and CEO.

Hunt was formerly with AMEC and based in Phoenix, Arizona where he led the infrastructure division of 400 people. However, he is a native of Victoria, B.C. and graduated in engineering and project management from the University of British Columbia.

Hunt is only the third person to have the title of president at Buckland and Taylor. Peter Taylor, the company’s co-founder, will continue to work on projects.
