Natural Resources Canada (NRCan) has launched the latest version of the EE4 software. Designers can use the tool to model new buildings and determine their energy performance to the Model National Energy Code for Buildings. If it exceeds the code by at least 25 per cent, the building can be submitted to NRCan for validation.
The EE4 program encompasses:
— detailed transmission, solar, internal and ventilation load calculations,
— primary and secondary systems and components,
— flexible scheduling of occupancy, lighting and equipment loads, temperature schedules, water heating loads and fans, and
— automated generation of detailed compliance reports.
