Earth Tech Canada has been selected to operate the Swan Hills hazardous waste treatment centre in Alberta. The plant can treat 40,000 tonnes per year and has treated more than 200,000 tonnes of waste since 1987. It has five operating units and 14 support units that can process wastes included PCBs, solvents, paints and pesticides.
Earth Tech, owned by Tyco, is an international engineering and contracting firm that has absorbed several well-known Canadian consulting engineering firms in the last few years, including Reid Crowther. Earth Tech already manages Edmonton’s composting facility and wastewater plants in Banff and Jasper.
