Consulting engineering firm CH2M Hill Canada has signed a Memorandum of Agreement with Canada’s Assembly of First Nations to become the title sponsor for an environmental awards program.
The “AFN-CH2M Hill Environmental Awards Recognition Program” will be for First Nations individuals, groups, businesses, and communities who work to protect the environment. Awards will recognize projects in four broad categories: Earth, Air, Water, and Fire. These categories reflect First Nations’ traditional modes of honouring the earth.
The awards will be formally launched at the Assembly of First Nations’ December Chiefs Assembly in Ottawa.
