People News and Awards: Hatch Mott MacDonald, MMM, CH2M HILL, Dialog, Golder

Biljana Rajlic of Hatch Mott MacDonald in Mississauga, Ontario received the 2012 Canadian Transportation Award of Excellence. Rajlic was cited as a professional engineer who has made outstanding contributions to the design and construction of bridge structures through the use of new materials and advanced methods of accelerated bridge construction. She was the structures lead on the $1.4-billion Windsor Essex Parkway project where she championed the use of NU bridge girders.

Mike Koziol has joined MMM Group as Vice President in its Transportation practice. Koziol was previously general manager of infrastructure services of the City of Edmonton and is based in that city.

Susan Martinovich, P.E. has joined CH2M HILL as highway/bridge director for North America. Martinovich is a former director of the Nevada Department of Transportation, where she worked for 28 years.

Dale Kerr, P.Eng. is the recipient of the 2012 Anthony A. Woods Award of Excellence from the Ontario Building Envelope Council. The award is given in recognition of her longstanding contribution to the design, construction and performance of the building envelope.

Kristy Neish has joined Halsall’s Calgary office as a project manager, structural engineering.

Dialog has appointed three engineers as associates in its Toronto and Calgary offices. Gabriel Wong, P.Eng. is in structural and project management and has been involved in projects such as the Durham Region Police Services Building and the Canadian Forces Military Police Building. Christopher Lenzin, P.Eng. is part of the structural engineering team and has been a project engineer for projects such as Cross Iron Mills, the Calgary Air Traffic Control Tower and The Bow. Trevor Cleall, P.Eng., is in the electrical engineering group. His projects include the Westmount Corporate Campus, the new Ernest Manning High School, Seneca College KIP Building and the Kingston Clinic.

The Canadian Institute of Planners presented Keltie Craig of Golder Associates in Calgary with the 2012 Presidents Award for Young Planners. Craig is a planner with Golder’s planning and landscape architecture division which was created when Golder joined with HB Lanarc in 2011. Her work includes a sustainability plan for Canada’s Capital Region in Ottawa and an environmental strategic plan for Port Coquitlam in B.C.
