Anthony F.D. Russell has received the 2010 Transportation Person of the Year Award from the Transportation Association of Canada. Mr. Russell retired in June this year from his position of senior vice-president of Hatch Mott MacDonald in Mississauga, Ontario. He has 38 years in consulting engineering, having worked on transportation projects in Canada, Europe, Asia, Africa and South America. Mr. Russell was presented with the award in Halifax in September by the Honourable Chuck Strahl, Canada’s Minister of Transport, Infrastructure and Communities.
Stantec has been named one of Canada’s top companies for monitoring and reporting its carbon emissions. The company was selected by the international Carbon Disclosure Project at an event hosted by the Conference Board of Canada in Toronto in October. Fifteen of Canada’s top 200 publicly traded companies were recognized as “among Canada’s most involved and most transparent in their initiatives to address climate change.”
SNC-Lavalin has acquired Nucleonex, a specialized nuclear safety consulting engineering firm in Montreal. The company provides services in Canada and around the world.
