Changes at the top of consulting engineering associations

The executive director of ACEC-BC (formerly Consulting Engineers of B.C./CEBC) has left the organization after seven years. Steve Fleck, the president, announced that Glenn Martin had decided to make a career change and thanked her for her dedication to the association. Kate Cockerill — a former executive director of ACEC-BC — has been appointed interim executive director while a replacement for Martin is found.

Michael Snow, P.Eng. of Golder Associates has been elected chair of Consulting Engineers of Ontario. The association held its annual meeting in Hamilton, Ontario on June 18. Chair elect is Bob Kivi of MMM Group. Mike Stocks of AMEC is treasurer, Brian Jackson of SNC-Lavalin is secretary, and Bill De Angelis of Associated Engineering is past chair.

At its annual general meeting in Edmonton, Consulting Engineers of Alberta elected Sheldon Hudson, P.Eng. of Al-Terra Engineering as its new president. The new board also includes Craig Clifton as vice president, Doug Olson as treasurer, and Gord Johnston as past president.
