Tim Yamashita joins Cando Rail Services as VP Engineering

Yamashita is a professional engineer with almost 30 years of experience working in the rail industry for Canadian Pacific.

Cando Rail Services, a Brandon, Manitoba-based service provider of rail support services, has appointed Tim Yamashita as its new vice president of engineering and track services. In his new role, Yamashita is responsible for the management of Cando’s Design, Build, Maintain services.

Yamashita is a professional engineer with almost 30 years of experience working in the rail industry for Canadian Pacific Railway Ltd. He has extensive experience in managing all facets of construction projects and maintenance which include rail terminals, pre-tripping facilities, track infrastructure and bridge works.

“We are excited to have someone with Tim’s high level of technical, management and engineering experience join Cando,” said Brian Cornick, Cando’s CEO, in a media release. “He has an extensive management background in construction and rail projects which fits in perfectly with Cando’s current business structure.”

In his nearly 30-year career with CP, Yamashita held various roles within the company’s engineering departments, most recently as the senior director engineering works, systems where he provided leadership to the works team and the various engineering field operations. In previous positions with CP, he had responsibilities ranging from project management, to capital program development to leading local engineering teams.
